Product Review: Mixing Bowl

It is one of the most important thing in my kitchen!
and the most important features that the bowl must have: round bottom and big.

i use a hand mixer.. so round bottom mixing bowl play a big role in it.. also when you do you salad mixing you don't want your salad's dressing stuck at the bottom corner of your bowl.. it will be very very hard to clean..

and it will be very helpful if the bowl have a handle...

my recommendation will be the mixing bowl at Ikea...

it's plastic so it's light weight... and it's super cheap too.. it's only rm19.90 comes in 2sizes.. i even do my bread dough kneading in the bowl! i don't even need a flat surface!

Easy Cook: Honey Lemon Grilled Chicken

few weeks ago i found a recipe on pinterest. it's spicy honey chicken.. i tried but didn't bother to look for all the ingredients.. i use chilli flakes instead of what suggested on the recipe.. it was delicious.. but its not spicy at all.. so i altered the recipe i came out with this!

Ingredients
5pcs chicken breasts (u can use other part of chicken but if this is your first time grilling chicken on a pan, i would suggest u use breasts)1/2cup honey
2tbs lemon / lime
2tbs garlic salt (if you don't have garlic salt, just use normal salt)
1tbs onion powder
2tbs corriender
Steps
1. Sliced you chicken breast into 2, so you'll get thinner slices.
2. Mix all the ingredients together with the chicken and keep it in the fridge for 1hour
3. Using your grill (griddle) pan (if you have oven, you can use it if u want too.. it's easier for me to use grilled pan) put it on stove. When it's already a bit warm, just brush a little bit of butter on it.
4. When your pan really hot, lower your stove heat and put on your chicken.
5. Wait until it's golden brown before you turn the cicken to the other side (about 3,4minutes)
then it's done!

ps: just to check if you chickens are done take one and cut it to see the inside..

Batik Cake

first of all, if you don't live in Malaysia u might not know what Batik cake is.. i guess when u cut the cake the texture looks like batik painting.. that's why the name is like that..

it is a non-bake cake.. so you don't have to worry if u don't have any oven..

i've written the recipe before on snazzynsuch.com.. here's english translation for the recipe..

Ingredients
1 packet marie biscuits
1 1/2 – 2 cups water
3/4 cups cocoa powder
2 cups milo
1 cup sugar
125grams butter
1 1/2 cup chopped groudnuts
2 eggs

Steps
1. Put water into big pot and put it on your stove.
2. Once it's warm enough (u don't have to wait till it really hot) put in cocoa, milo, dan sugar – stir until it dissolve.
3. Add groundnuts – stir.
4. Lower your heat, add in eggs. Stir quickly till thick and turn of your stove.
5. (I use 10" baking tin.) Put the clean wrap plastic on your bakin tin. Make sure the plastic is big and some allowance on sides.
6. Put the first layer of marie biscuits on your baking tin.
7. Slowly, put your chocolate mix on the biscuits.
8. Repeat the process 3 or 4 times.
9. Cover your cake with the plastic allowance. Then put your cake in the fridge for 2 - 3 hours.

then it's ready to be served.

Review: Beef Burgers!

one of the easiest things to make when you are in hurry! burgers!!

i prefer beef burgers than chicken burger... living here in Malaysia, it's very easy to get cheap burgers.. you can get it @ the stall on the street for only RM2.. but sometimes i'm just plain lazy to go out and i want a good beef burgers to my liking... so i just had to cook it..

i like my beef patty to be not so thick, beefy, and juice.. every made one myself but i've been tasting lots of them that i got from the supermarket.. and today i'd like to compare these 2 products..
both products are halal and not much different in price..

First Pride beef patties are yummy!!! they are very juicy... not so thick and not so thin.. i love it.. they are so good that u can eat it just like that.. err maybe with some salads ;p..
one of the best thing about it, you can cook it straight after taking it out of the freezer.. they don't stick to each other.. the price is RM8.60 and you can get it at Tesco..
i'm giving 4.5stars for it!

then, i tried Darabif beef patties.. their normal ones are out of stocks so i bought their junior beef burgers.. when i open the box i got so turn off with the colors.. they are light brown almost grey?? not brown/red-ish like normal beef patties.. then they are not round, they are oval!
the taste is not like a beef burger at all.. they are thick and tasted very much like a process foods.. well not like they taste like chemical or something.. but it's like eating sausage or something like that.. they stuck to each other when i take it out from the freezer.. so i had to defrost it.. i had doing that!
i was thinking maybe because they are junior beef burgers.. and it is meant for kids... so to be fair i bought the normal ones..
and guess what, it is almost the same as the junior burgers... except that they are thicker and slightly big.. i was very disappointed.. the price is about RM7.50.
i think mc'donald's beef burger tasted much better..
sadly i'm not giving Darabif any star since they are expensive and i must say it's not worth any single cents i spend for it..

if u have tasted any good beef patties, do let me know and maybe i can try it!

Easy Cook : Garlic Butter & Garlic Bread

Since this is my first recipe I was thinking why not post something very easy.

U must be thinking "what? I can get ready made from the store". Well trust me this tastes much better.

Garlic Butter

Ingredients

1 part salted butter (I use SCS butter)

1/3 part garlic

-(part means the amount is up to your liking, so your garlic must be 1/3 from your butter amount. But if u like stronger garlic flavor, u can just add more garlic. Maybe 1/2part)

Steps

1. Let your butter be @ room temperature

2. Chopped your garlics into very little pieces

3. Mix both butter & garlic together.

To store put it in covered container so that ur fridge won't smell like garlic. :)

Garlic Bread

This does not need any ingredients since u need bread only. For me any bread works. For this, I use English muffins.

Steps

1. Spread the garlic butter on your bread.

2. Take ur non-stick pan and warm it up. (u can use ur oven too. But I like my bread to be crunchy)

3. Toast your bread till the buttered sides are golden brown and u are done!

Bon appetite!
