Easy Cook: Steak Sandwich with Mushrooms

Woke up this morning and it was raining... as usual felt so lazy i sat around doing nothing for almost 6 hours.. and suddenly i feel like having so muffins.. but..i got only 2 eggs left in the fridge.. not that i cannot do muffins with 2 eggs.. but then thinking that i won't have egg in the fridge till i go buy some (which i don't know when) kinda stopped me from using it for muffin.. yes i'm that weird that i must have eggs at home at all time (among few more other things)

anyway, i decided to try on the bagel recipe that i saw on pinterest the other day.. and i still have 1/2kg of the wholemeal flour, so why not.. it's super easy. i follow 100% from the recipe.. the only thing i change is the flour.. i use wholemeal..

i turn out perfect! so i had some plain bagel for brunchea (breakfast/lunch/tea). :P

and for dinner of course i wanted to use my "bagel".. so i made some steak with mashroom..

Ingredients (serves 1 or 2 person depending how hungry you are)
100gm beef steak
4/5 button mushrooms
1 medium size red onion
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tbsp paprika
Virgin olive oil

Steps
1. Cut your steak to smaller pieces
2. marinate them with garlic salt
3. caramelize your onion in the olive oil
4. add the beef in
5. on medium heat, cook the beef about about 3 - 5 minutes
6. Add mushrooms and cook for another 2 minutes
7. Add paprika

toast your bagel.. and it's ready to serve... :)

Note:
1. You can add more salt when you add the paprika if you want..
2. also can replace paprika with black pepper.. i'm not a black pepper person.. so i prefer paprika..

Baking: Perfect Bread Base Recipe

I've been neglecting this blog farrrr too long.. tonight i tried a new bread base recipe.. and i must say, it's the easiest and almost perfect. fact: that i made them during rainy day and at night. i have a feeling if i do it on sunny day, it will turn out perfect... so before i forgot, i think i must share it here..

Fish floss and cranberry bread.
you can find the recipe here.

Note:
1. Not a good idea to bake savory and sweet bread at the same time.. the smell of savory ones gonna spoil your sweet bread.. but it still taste great.
2. I put everything together except for the wet ingredients. Egg and butter were added after i add the water.

Easy Cook: Honey Lemon Grilled Chicken

few weeks ago i found a recipe on pinterest. it's spicy honey chicken.. i tried but didn't bother to look for all the ingredients.. i use chilli flakes instead of what suggested on the recipe.. it was delicious.. but its not spicy at all.. so i altered the recipe i came out with this!

Ingredients
5pcs chicken breasts (u can use other part of chicken but if this is your first time grilling chicken on a pan, i would suggest u use breasts)1/2cup honey
2tbs lemon / lime
2tbs garlic salt (if you don't have garlic salt, just use normal salt)
1tbs onion powder
2tbs corriender
Steps
1. Sliced you chicken breast into 2, so you'll get thinner slices.
2. Mix all the ingredients together with the chicken and keep it in the fridge for 1hour
3. Using your grill (griddle) pan (if you have oven, you can use it if u want too.. it's easier for me to use grilled pan) put it on stove. When it's already a bit warm, just brush a little bit of butter on it.
4. When your pan really hot, lower your stove heat and put on your chicken.
5. Wait until it's golden brown before you turn the cicken to the other side (about 3,4minutes)
then it's done!

ps: just to check if you chickens are done take one and cut it to see the inside..

Batik Cake

first of all, if you don't live in Malaysia u might not know what Batik cake is.. i guess when u cut the cake the texture looks like batik painting.. that's why the name is like that..

it is a non-bake cake.. so you don't have to worry if u don't have any oven..

i've written the recipe before on snazzynsuch.com.. here's english translation for the recipe..

Ingredients
1 packet marie biscuits
1 1/2 – 2 cups water
3/4 cups cocoa powder

1 1/2 cup chopped groudnuts
2 eggs

Steps
1. Put water into big pot and put it on your stove.

3. Add groundnuts – stir.
4. Lower your heat, add in eggs. Stir quickly till thick and turn of your stove.
5. (I use 10" baking tin.) Put the clean wrap plastic on your bakin tin. Make sure the plastic is big and some allowance on sides.

Easy Cook : Garlic Butter & Garlic Bread

Since this is my first recipe I was thinking why not post something very easy.

U must be thinking "what? I can get ready made from the store". Well trust me this tastes much better.

Garlic Butter

Ingredients

1 part salted butter (I use SCS butter)

1/3 part garlic

-(part means the amount is up to your liking, so your garlic must be 1/3 from your butter amount. But if u like stronger garlic flavor, u can just add more garlic. Maybe 1/2part)

Steps

1. Let your butter be @ room temperature

2. Chopped your garlics into very little pieces

3. Mix both butter & garlic together.

To store put it in covered container so that ur fridge won't smell like garlic. :)

Garlic Bread

This does not need any ingredients since u need bread only. For me any bread works. For this, I use English muffins.

Steps

1. Spread the garlic butter on your bread.

2. Take ur non-stick pan and warm it up. (u can use ur oven too. But I like my bread to be crunchy)

3. Toast your bread till the buttered sides are golden brown and u are done!

Bon appetite!
